Do you cut coupons? Not worth your time huh? Well, let’s say you can save anywhere from $20.00 to $70.00 in one shopping trip? It takes maybe an hour to search, scan or cut out and organize coupons…..so now I ask you, I would love to make $20.00 to $70.00 per hour! That isn’t chump change! If I save on the higher end, I can fill my tank with my savings!
We are heading, if not already in a recession people! Even if we weren’t, who has money to burn? Too many of us pay for “convenience” and are going to nickel and dime ourselves into the poor house! If we don’t start now to be recession-proof, it will catch us off guard. Not only will luxuries be a thing of the past, but providing the necessities may be an actual hardship.
I subscribe to the newspaper and my subscription is free once I cut coupons! The Wednesday paper advertises the deals of the week at local grocery stores. The Sunday paper is full of coupons on things you use everyday!
Here are some tips:
* Don’t cut every coupon! Only the ones you will use or for products you are willing to try.
* Got a kid old enough to cut on the dotted line? Highlight the coupons you want and your kid can cut them out for you! Great way to include your child in budgeting for the family. And less work for you!
* Organize your coupons into categories, again another task a kid can help you with!
* FIND THE STORES THAT WILL DOUBLE YOUR COUPONS! This is key my darlings! I have been known to walk with things for free by the time I double coupon! Use it on the smallest sized product, unless you know you know you are going to use the entire product before it expires.
* Use the store’s club card.
* Buy and take your cloth grocery bags. Most store give you money back for using them and they are so much easier to carry in from the car! I bought a large reusable hot/cold grocery bag. It sure comes in handy when I have to make a pit stop or two before heading home.
* I do stop by the local produce store and find better prices on fruits, veggies, nuts and bulk rice.
Record your savings. This week, I saved $76.03 with my club card, double coupons and cloth bags. If I do this every time I do my weekly shopping, I will have saved over $300.00 in one month!
Now, is it worth my time and effort to clip coupons? At a $300.00 savings, YOU CAN BANK ON IT!!!!!
