People hate me! And guess what? There are people who hate you too! This was such a hard concept for me to wrap my head around. People hate me for no good reason. It’s not just because I am in the public eye. It happens to all of us.
I want to tell you. It’s ok for 3 people to hate you as long as you have 3 people in your life who love you!
I realized that I have been spending way too much time on the 3 who hate me! They don’t matter. How could I let them live in my brain, my heart, my soul, when the rent was so high! Why was I giving them a second thought or even a third thought? I was wasting my time, my energy and my spirit thinking about it. You probably are too! Let’s get this concept down together shall we…. Not everyone will like you. It’s ok! As long as there are people, there will be haters. My friend gave me these wonderful words of wisdom. She said, people hated Jesus so much they crucified him. No one was more perfect or peaceful than Him, and yet, there were people who hated him.
Look to the people who love you. Be thankful for those who love you, faults and all! Think of ways you can show your appreciation for their gift of love. Try it right now. Go ahead, think of a person who hates you…not for too long, it is exhausting… notice all the negative ways it affects your body, even for 30 seconds! Did you entertain thoughts of vengeance? Isn’t that awful?
Now, think of a person who loves you. Picture them in your mind. Do you see them? Do you see their smiling eyes looking back at you? Can you hear them saying something kind? Do you feel your body feeling peaceful or tingling with excitement? Isn’t that incredibly cool?! I wish I could bottle those feelings and carry them with me! Although I can’t do that, I can choose to keep the thought of the person who loves me close and not give a second thought to the person who hates me.
Yes, it’s ok for 3 people to hate me, because I have 3 people who love me!
