Gas Prices

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Can you believe it? Gas is over $4.60 a gallon and financial experts predict we can go up t0 $12.00 a gallon in five years and see this period in history as the good old days! The other day I filled up my tank and it was $65.00! I remember when I could buy 2 round trip tickets on Southwest airlines for less than that only two years ago! This is getting out of hand. The price of gasoline is on the lips of everyone and a hot topic for discussion and rant. A few months ago, people would pump gas and turn to someone else who was also pumping gas and find a comrade in the complaining about the cost to fill the tank. Now, no one says a word at the pump. They just stand there in stunned silence as they see the better part of their paycheck pumped into a tank of gas that may last them a week if they are lucky.

Christmas in July

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Why does Christmas still take us all by surprise? It has been on the same day for a million years and still we all panic on the 20th of December like it’s a brand new concept! What? Get an evergreen tree and pull it into the house? Put lights up on the house? Buy a gift for every relative, even the ones we never see? Send a card to people we never hear from? What’s that? I need special paper to wrap the gifts?

George Carlin, Good Night Fierce Prince

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

George Carlin died last night of a heart attack. This will be a great loss in the comedy community. He was a pioneer in comedy as one of his most famous bits, the seven dirty words, went all the way to the Supreme Court. His courage to explore, attack and question any and all topics of comedy encouraged stand up comedians like myself to do the same.

Bike Ride Of Death!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

My daughter and I went on a bike ride the other day. We were very excited. We were planning to go on the bike trail which runs beside a lake. Now, as some of you know, I got my bike as a Mother’s Day gift and have only been riding it for a month. My daughter was being very helpful. She pulled the bike out from the garage to the sidewalk. I have a basket on my bike, so my daughter filled it up with the necessities; water, binoculars, snacks, notebook, pencils, this week’s happy meal toy from Kung Fu Panda…there was hardly any room for my cell phone.

3 People Hate Me!

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

People hate me! And guess what? There are people who hate you too! This was such a hard concept for me to wrap my head around. People hate me for no good reason. It’s not just because I am in the public eye. It happens to all of us.

I’ll Admit It, I Clean My Own House!

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Yes, you read it right! I clean my own house. It seems as if I am the only one who does. I used to pay for someone to come in twice a month to clean. My husband could never understand why I would have someone come in because the night before the maid would come I would scramble around cleaning BEFORE she came.

Cops, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do?

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Ok, I will admit it, Cops is one of my favorite shows! I love watching cops! Now, it seems like there are two types of cops. One type of cop loves to run after the perp, tackle him to the ground, push his face into the grass and yell out his Miranda rights into the ear that is not full of dirt and blood!

Internet Bullies And Their Comments

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Against my better judgment I read some of the comments posted on some blogs about my recent performance on Style’s Clean House. These posts are never good! I even know for a fact they are generated by weird fan clubs who are freakishly faithful to the shows, which is just weird, but still, the words hurt.

What I Have Learned During Tough Times

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I am an actress, a talk show host and a stand up comedian. I love what I do. It is my oxygen. I feel alive when I am on stage and connecting with the audience; ranting and raving about children, marriage, sex and current events. I love interviewing people; each question and answer provide insight into an interesting topic. As an actress I can be anybody! The choices are limitless! I have been called in for a two headed snake, a talking daisy, a bombshell secretary, a high school principal, and of course many calls for a wife and mommy, a role I am well suited for.

Nipple Rings

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Yes! I said it! NIPPLE RINGS!!!! Why? What are the reasons for nipple rings? A place to hang my car keys? God knows, I keep losing those keys and that would be a sure fire way to keep track of them!
